We are currently looking for a Full-Time experienced veterinary technician (hours include overnights) and Part-Time technicians for weekend hours.
Veterinary Technician - Emergency / Urgent Care
Fulltime, part time and/or relief positions available. We are looking to add motivated, energetic and experienced veterinary technicians to our team!
We are a small emergency and urgent care practice located in St. Paul, MN, near Como Park & Zoo.
We share facilities with a day practice, so we are able to provide 24 hour patient and client care 7 days a week between the 2 practices.
Current Hours: Open Weeknights 7pm - 8am, Weekends 24 hours, Holidays 24 hours
Species Seen: Dogs, Cats, Birds, Exotics & Pocket Pets
Our goal is to provide personalized care for owners and their pets until they can return to their regular provider. We are happy to care for those patients, during those hours their regular practitioner might not be available.

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic, hard working, dependable, team oriented people whose primary focus is to work in the emergency and critical care field.
Ideal candidates are self-motivated and can work well both alone and with a team. They must be good multi-taskers and time managers. They must be able to handle challenges and stressful situations. They must be willing and able to continue to learn and grow in the field, take direction well, and take initiative to think critically and find answers.
Good communication with the care team, clients and referring practitioners is a must.
REQUIRED: 6 months+ experience in veterinary practice including a comfort level in the following:
- Injectable and inhalant anesthesia
- Routine surgeries including surgical prep and monitoring
- Venipuncture and sample acquisition
- IV catheter placement
- Preparation and evaluation of urine, blood film, fecal material, and various other samples
- Radiograph acquisition
- Perform treatments on hospitalized patients
- Taking patient histories and discussing patient health status with clients
Current good standing as a credentialed veterinary technician or equivalent
Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays is a must.
PREFERRED: 1+ years experience in ER/ECC and/or specialty/referral practice
- Anesthesia of critical patients
- Specialty surgeries
Perform treatments of hospitalized patients including treatments of critical patients:
- Blood component therapy including transfusions
- NG feeding tube placement, maintenance and use
- Oxygen cannula placement and maintenance
- Colloid administration and monitoring
- Experience handling birds, exotics and small mammals is a plus
Training is provided on the job for these species, so willingness to learn is a must.
